The bumpin' new beat music project Rose Tinted begins their winter residency at Holocene this Sunday.
And just like that... we're back at the weekend. Read on for weekend plans you don't have to commit to until the last minute, including socially distanced events like Portland Mercado’s Winter Soup Festival To Go and a guided Sauvie Island bird walk. Past Event List Co-directed alongside her fellow UCLA film students Kurt Voss and Dean Lent, Allison Anders's 1987 debut is a semi-improvised post-punk diary that took four years to complete. It follows a musician (played by Chris D. of the Flesh Eaters) who goes missing after stealing stuff from a club, leaving his wife (Luanna Anders), a rock journalist, to track him down with the help of his friends (John Doe from X and Chris Shearer).

Rose City Classic Dog Show 2022
Past Event List I’ve wondered how closely actual dog shows resemble Christopher Guest's Best in Show (and now I wonder how annoyed dog-show people are when Best in Show gets brought up—probably a lot). So let’s find out together this week at the four-day event hosted by the Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon (that’s a real name), the Tualatin Kennel Club, and others. It’s one of the biggest and best dog shows out there, apparently, with canine competitors and judges coming in from around the country. ERIK HENRIKSEN
