EVENTS

THURSDAY, APRIL 20

Northwest Cannafest 2023: Oregon’s Largest 4/20 Event Past Event List
Celebrate the day of ganja with what claims to be Oregon's "largest 4/20 event" with performances from four dope tribute groups conveniently staged across the street from Northwest Cannabis Company. Get ready to sing your heart out with performances by Pink Floyd cover band Pigs on the Wing, U2 tribute group TribU2, and Fleetwood Mac-inspired jammers Gold Dust. Plus, don't miss 4:20—there’ll be an on-the-dot celebratory balloon drop.
At The Garages, 2-11 pm

Party101 with DJ Matt Bennett Past Event List
Despite my best efforts to tap into some cannabis-driven creativity when I'm high, I usually find myself in the deep depths of YouTube searching for videos of early aughts celebs' failed music careers (some favorites include Vanessa Hudgens' "Sneakernight," Nicole Richie's "Dandelion," and Tyra Banks' "Shake Ya Body") If you relate to this impulse, then perhaps 4/20 is the best time to check out this nostalgia-driven dance party hosted by sitcom actor Matt Bennett (Victorious, The Big Bang Theory, and Sam and Cat), who will celebrate the music of Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. AUDREY VANN
Crystal Ballroom, 9 pm

Tinder Live With Lane Moore Past Event List
Comedian and former Cosmo sex and relationships editor Lane Moore will head back to Portland to tackle the Rose City dating scene. (And on 4/20, no less!) Audiences swipe along on a projected Tinder screen, and if they vote "yes" on a profile, Moore shoots the lucky someone a message. If it sounds like a recipe for disaster and utter hilarity, you're right—Tinder Live! with Lane Moore has been praised by the New York Times, VICE, NPR, and the Washington Post. After the show, stick around to have Moore sign your copy of their new tome, You Will Find Your People: How to Make Meaningful Friendships as an Adult.
Polaris Hall, 8 pm

4/20 Dinner Past Event List
This dinner riffs on some time-honored munchie foods, resulting in crave-worthy dishes like sorghum parmesan popcorn with CBD butter, capicola cheddar pizza rolls, Dungeness crab flautas, and duck nachos.
The Hive Social, 5-9 pm

420 Toke-Tacular: The Ultimate Rip in 16mm
Past Event List Local film archivists Ioana Cherascu and Garrett Schroeder, aka Astral Projections, will present another trippy ride of 16mm shorts with 420 Toke-Tacular: The Ultimate Rip, which—you guessed it—is designed to appeal to your stoner sensibilities. Expect a glimmering medley of Freemasonry and harbor seals, plus Suzan Pitt’s animated psychedelic masterpiece, Asparagus, and a "liquid light show." Groovy.
Hollywood Theatre, 7:30 pm

Vegan Crunchwrap Supreme Popup - The Devil's Crunchwrap Past Event List
Taco Bell's Crunchwrap Supreme and weed is a combo as classic as milk and cookies. This new pop-up specializes in high-quality, plant-based versions of the fast food favorite, including a "dessert crunchwrap" with mini churros, candied bananas, and coconut whipped cream.
St Johns Beer Porch, 5-9 pm

SATURDAY, APRIL 22

Forgotten Fantasies: Saturday Takeover Past Event List
For this smoky edition of Forgotten Fantasies, a slapstick roundup of local reefer lovers will take to the stage to riff on anti-cannabis classic Reefer Madness. Before the main event, a curated selection of anti-drug PSAs and vintage TV clips will bring the giggles.
The 4th Wall PDX, 5 pm

Portland Pizza Week Past Event List

Eem
List
The smash-hit spot's comforting fusion of Thai cuisine and Southern barbecue is ideal for intoxicated consumption. As The Portland Mercury's Andrea Damewood wrote, "Eem is the restaurant equivalent of Lizzo: infectious, critically and commercially acclaimed, and addictive AF. You cannot go wrong in ordering, from the hot fried cauliflower to the divine brisket in white curry to the fried rice with burnt ends. And both the cocktails and mocktails are some of the best in town—my favorite piña colada, made with coffee and salt to keep it from being too cloying, is on the menu again."

Oma's Hideaway
List Gado Gado List  co-owners Mariah and Thomas Pisha-Duffly billed their original pandemic takeout spinoff Oma's Takeaway as "Asian stoner food," so it only makes sense that its successor, the Malaysian-Chinese street food restaurant Oma's Hideaway, is a perfect 4/20 destination, with menu items like sweet potato dumplings, char siu rice bowls, and Fruity Pebble Rice Krispies treats.

Vegan Junk Food
List This plant-based comfort food spot offers equal-opportunity hedonism for vegan stoners. Janey Wong writes, "The chicky nuggies were very convincing, lookin’ darn near identical to their animal counterpart, and satisfying to this omnivore’s palate. The curly fries that accompanied it were pitch-perfect, but the real revelation was the vegan ranch."
