ARTS

Portland Music Month Past Event List kicked off this week, presenting over 100 shows in various venues across the city. Check out our picks List , the full schedule, and Portland Mercury music columnist Jenni Moore’s write up.

Holocene List has updated their COVID policy in response to the spread of the omicron variant. The venue will require concertgoers to provide proof that they have received a booster shot or a negative professionally administered COVID test result within 24 hours of entry.

The Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association announced their 2022 Book Award Winners today. You can tune in for the PNBA Book Awards Celebration Past Event List on Tuesday, February 8. 

Today is the final day to submit nominations for the 11th Oregon Poet Laureate. Nominees will then have until Friday, January 14 to complete their applications.

SPORTS & RECREATION

The ski slopes at Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline, and Ski Bowl reopened yesterday following a heavy snowstorm.

FOOD & DRINK

With omicron cases climbing and general winter malaise setting in now that the holidays are over, you could probably use a drink. Luckily, the Portland Mercury’s Highball Week Past Event List is on the horizon, coming to a bar near you January 31-February 6. 

TRAVEL

For folks looking to head East out of Portland, a heads up that I-84 between Troutdale and Hood River is closed due to landslides. Drivers are advised to take SR 14 instead. 

COVID-19

This month, Multnomah County is hosting four weekly vaccine clinics, offering first, second, and booster doses. 

The OHSU COVID testing site at the Expo Center remains fully booked, but Curative mobile testing sites are showing available appointments for next week.
