Pedalpalooza: Superhero Day
One of Pedalpalooza's most popular rides gets a whole day dedicated to it for 2020. Considering movie theaters aren't what they used to be (and probably won't be that for awhile now) this is likely the best bet to see members of The Avengers, or the Justice League, or even homemade freelance superheroes the world just hasn't heard about yet, riding around and saving the world from supervillains and such.
Pride Live: Stonewall Day
The annual remembrance and tribute to Stonewall goes online for 2020, presented in partnership with Pride Media and WarnerMedia, with Stonewall Day's National Chair Geena Rocero welcoming activists, organizers, influencers, and notable celebrities (if you want to count, say... President Barack Obama as "notable." Oh, and Taylor Swift will be there too) as they come together (Fri June 26, 11 am) to help benefit Trans Lifeline, Brave Space Alliance, TransLatina Coalition, and the Ally Coalition through conversation, performance, and love.
Say Their Names: United in Solidarity
A peaceful vigil and memorial, co-sponsored by Hacienda CDC, the Coalition of Communities of Color, the Portland NAACP, the Urban League of Portland, NAYA, Verde, and Living Cully. The vigil (Fri June 26, 4 pm) will be held across from the Hacienda CDC headquarters, and all attendeed will be asked to observe safe social distancing guidelines, and to wear masks.
Renegade Craft Virtual Fair
For two hours this Friday afternoon starting at 3pm, Renegade Craft fair takes their spotlighting of makers and creators around the world online, in the hopes of "creating a diverse choose-your-own-adventure experience" for visitors. Even better: 100% of all proceeds donated will go towards orgs whose mission is to uplift BIPOC communities.
Abolish ICE
A protest and march, starting at the Fields Neighborhood Park at 5:30 pm, and going to the US Immigration Courthouse at 1220 SW 3rd. For updates, follow organizers The People vs. ICE on Instagram.

Petey Wheatstraw w/ Live Commentary from Donnell Rawlings and Mike Sargent
Maybe you're a connoiseur of fine cinema, and thus have always known about the Rudy Ray Moore Cinematic Universe. Maybe you're new to his low-budget filthy genius thanks to Netflix's Dolemite Is My Name (which got nowhere near the Oscar attention it should have). Either way, if you're looking to get more Rudy into your life, tonight's the night, with this livestreamed, live-commentaried screening of Petey Wheastraw (Fri June 26, 6:15pm, $10), the movie about Rudy marrying into Satan's extended family. Donnell Rawlings (The Wire, Chappelle's Show, that one guy who incorrectly rats out Spider-Man for stealing pizza in Spider-Man 2) and film critic Mike Sargent will break the movie down, while Mustafa Shaikh of 36 Chambers will moderate.
Kingsley
There’s a little bit of everything in Kingsley’s repertoire: sexy R&B on tracks like “Vibe,” defiant pop on “You Didn’t,” and introspective songwriting on “I Am Because I Am,” which is also the title of her 2018 EP—a mission statement, perhaps, or a promise. She performs live tonight at 7 pm courtesy of The Alberta Rose Theatre's "Portland Music Stream" series.
The Head and the Heart
They got their start performing on street corners for dollar bills, and there’s still a distinctive, pleasant “everyman” quality to The Head and the Heart's music. Even if you haven’t heard this band, you’d probably recognize their radio hits, like “Honeybee” and “All We Ever Knew.” They’re the kind of band you put on shuffle when you want to stare out the window and watch the rain, or just feel moody, cozy and introspective—and they're streaming a show tonight (Fri June 26, 9 pm, $10) with proceeds benefitting the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Pedalpalooza: World Ride Naked Day
Instead of asking thousands of naked (and semi-naked) people to pedal in a mass group with a fixed start time, this year's annual protest against oil dependency has been converted into "Ride Naked" day. Bicyclists are encouraged to pedal around town naked at all times, anywhere. Just not in groups. "This is the best thing that could happen to the world naked bike ride," says Meghan Sinnott, one of the rides organizers and Pedalpalooza's lead organizer. "If anything, our reach will be farther and more diverse if everyone just pedals off from their homes naked at varying times. Chances are going to be high that you'll see someone biking around naked on June 27."
Global Pride 2020
An all-day (literally all-day, as in 24 straight hours) livestreamed celebration of Pride taking place across the globe, with orgs from Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and America all participating. Who's going to be at this thing? How about Costa Rican president Carlos Alvarado Quesada, Norway's Prime Minister Erna Solberg, drag performers Pabllo Vittar and Courtney Act, music by Olivia Newton John, Thelma Houston, and the Dixie Chicks, and way, way more.
Drink Beer, Be Kind: A Virtual Beer Festival
Back in May, the Oregon Brewers Guild figured out how to combine safe social distancing with satisfying beerfest practices via the Stay Home Drink Beer virtual festival. And now they're back for June with the Drink Beer, Be Kind virtual beerfest (Sat June 27, 1 pm), which will include "chats with brewers from across Oregon, live music, comedy, axe-throwing and more." Guests include reps from Russian River Brewing, Bell's Brewery, Ecliptic Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing, Wayfinder, Heater Allen, Bierstadt, Chuckanut, Baerlic, Stormbreaker and more.
Noir: A Melanated Drag Celebration
An invitation to join the cast of Noir as they present one of the most melanated drag shows in the whole Pacific Northwest (Sat June 27, 8 pm, $10). Performers include Amora Dior Black, Dion Dior Black, Issa Man, Hot Pink Shade, Londyn Bradshaw, LüChi, Macy Marcs, and Skarlet Dior Black.
Electric Blockaloo: A Rave Family Experience
OK, we're just going to set aside that name for a sec, nobody goes to festivals because of their names, really, you're not listening to the name for days straight. You're listening to the artists, and that's what's important here, and this Minecraft festival (Sat-Sun June 27-28) is calling itself "the world's largest virtual music festival," taking place in "the most epic festival venue ever created," featuring EDM all-stars including A-Trak, Diplo, Anjunabeats, JAUZ, and so many more.
Spectrum: An Outside the Frame Film Festival
Outside the Frame's first youth-run film festival goes online today at 2 pm, for a free look at debut works from young filmmakers sharing unheard stories from their unique perspectives.

Justice Comes Alive: A Virtual Festival for Equality
A one-day-only virtual benefit concert in partnership with the PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund, raising money and awareness for orgs like the Equal Justice Initiative, Impact Justice, and the Bail Project, and other Indigenous-led grassroots orgs out there doing work to fight racism. The concert will feature over 50 artists sharing performances created during their COVID-19 lockdowns, including Turkuaz, The Soul Rebels, Marco Beneveto, The Motet, Ivan Neville, Galactic, Umphrey's McGee, and more.
NYC Pride March 2020
A special broadcast event (Sun June 28, 9 am) from NYC Pride, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the city's first Pride March with a salute to front-line workers in the COVID-19 crisis, as well as honoring leaders in the LGBTQ+ community, including the Ali Forney Center, Yanzi Peng, Victoria Cruz, and Dan Levy. There will be performances, too, from artists including Deborah Cox, Billy Porter, Luisa Sonza, and Janelle Monae.
PDX Porch Session: Mic Crenshaw
Mic Crenshaw is a veteran emcee and staple of the Portland hiphop scene, having performed as a member of Hungry Mob, Cleveland Steamers, and Suckapunch. He's lending his considerable presence and voice to this installment of the PDX Porch Sessions (Sun June 28, 4 pm), as part of their commitment to "stand with the protestors, letter writers, organizers, reporters, activists, and many others who have joined together to hold all American institutions to the highest standards."
I'll Be Gone in the Dark
HBO premieres the first episode of their new documentary series (Sun, June 28, 7 pm), based on the late Michelle McNamara's true-crime book, a book that played a very key role in actually discovering the identity of the Golden State Killer and bringing him to justice just this past month. Directed by Liz Garbus, and using interviews, archival footage, and police files, all narrated using original recordings of McNamara and actor Amy Ryan reading from her book.
