No, you're not seeing double, but you CAN see Tegan and Sara this November!
Twin sister pop duo Tegan and Sara will get “a little bit closer” to Portland this fall with a stop on their Cry Baby tour. "ABCDEFU" singer GAYLE is avoiding college and going on tour instead. Pacific Northwest drag royalty Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme will spice up your holiday season this Christmas. Plus, tickets are on sale now for Patricia Reser Center for the Arts’ inaugural 2022/23 season. Read on for details on those and other newly announced events, plus some news you can use.

RECREATION

Portland has been named one of TIME magazine’s 50 “World’s Greatest Places,” and is one of only four US cities to make the list. 

As part of their $18 million renovation, Oregon Coast Aquarium has unveiled a new natural play area, outdoor amphitheater, water feature, and redesigned lobby. The last phase of the aquarium’s three-phase renovation is expected to begin in 2023.

PDX Pop Now! Add to a List has made its first lineup announcement, including J. Graves, MAARQUII, and Quasi, with more to follow.

Tickets are now on sale for the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts’ inaugural 2022-23 season Add to a List , with performance highlights including Pink Martini, DakhaBrakha, Amythyst Kiah, and more. 

The Concerts At The Barn Add to a List series returns to Beaverton’s Hoffman Farms at the end of the month, kicking off with a performance from renowned flutist Zach Galatis on July 27. 

Portland Piano International has announced their 2022/2023 Solo Piano Series Add to a List , with 12 recitals curated by Russian American pianist Vladimir Feltsman. 

ARTS

Northwest Children’s Theatre has announced a move from their historic Northwest Neighborhood Cultural Center location to SW Broadway, where they’ll convert a fourplex movie theater into a youth arts center. The new location, across the street from Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, will have a proscenium theater, black box theater, family cinema, and studios.

QDoc, the only festival in the US devoted exclusively to LGBTQ+ documentaries, will return Add to a List to Hollywood Theatre this November after a two-year pandemic hiatus.

Dance organization White Bird has announced their 25th anniversary season Add to a List , kicking off with SW!NG OUT Add to a List , a fundraiser and dance performance with live music by Eyal Vilner Big Band. The season continues with the White Bird Dance Series/WE ARE ONE Festival Add to a List and a trio of White Bird Uncaged Add to a List performances at Portland State University’s Lincoln Hall.
