SUNDAY, AUGUST 27

Festa Del Pomodoro Past Event List
In the words of an evergreen 2019 tweet from writer Sarah Lazarus: "every day we have to wake up, confront the most upsetting shit we’ve ever seen, and then walk around obeying laws and saying 'it’s tomato season.'" That being said...it's tomato season. Glorious, juicy red orbs are everywhere you look, and we highly recommend taking full advantage while you can during their limited run. You can do just that with this "five-course, freaky fresh, downright delicious, tomato-touting patio party" from Grand Amari and Little Bitter Bar, which will start off with a complementary Italian spritz or non-alcoholic cocktail and include tomatoes in a myriad of preparations—"fresh, roasted, sauced, pasta'd." Seating will be communal with big plates for sharing, so prepare for a little socializing and a lot of summer abundance.
Grand Amari and Little Bitter Bar, 6-9 pm

Hapa Howie's chef Kiaha Kurek will prepare Hawaiian delights like deep-fried loco moco, li hing mui spam fries, and pipikaula Hawaiian short ribs, while BarkadaPDX chef Melvin Trinidad will show off his interpretation of Filipino comfort food staples, including pork belly tocino, deep-fried arroz caldo arancini, and embutido shumai dumplings.
