Sousòl Like List
According to a press release, chef Gregory Gourdet has opened this highly anticipated pan-Caribbean bar located in the basement of his celebrated Haitian restaurant Kann Like List , which debuted in August Like List . Named for the Haitian Creole word for "basement," the stylish space is decked out with bright pink banquettes, dark green wallpaper, and a citrus tree illustration. Gourdet has been openly sober for over 13 years, so zero-proof drinks naturally figure prominently on the menu, ranging from the "Konkonm" (cucumber and ginger-black pepper-lime syrup) to the "Fwi Pasyon 11" (passionfruit, spiced banana shrub, and ginger). The bar also features an ample selection of Caribbean-inspired full-proof drinks, such as the "Personality Test" (raicilla, tequila, peppercorn cordial, and grapefruit curd) and the "Djon Djon Djin" (rye, apple brandy, arak, Cynar, and Haitian black mushroom). To eat, there's a menu of bar snacks, including salt cod fritters, doubles, and Trini-Chinese chicken wings. The bar currently accepts walk-ins only, making it an ideal option if you can't secure reservations to Kann, although it may begin taking reservations in the future.
