This week brings the long-awaited reopening of Han Oak, with a brand-new hot pot program to boot. In other food news, the boozy brunch spot Flattop & Salamander arrives, the Bar Diane team plans a new wine shop and market, and Skyline Tavern and Parts and Service say goodbye. Flattop & Salamander List
After years of delay caused by the pandemic, bartender Samantha Castle and chef Todd Brown have opened their long-awaited boozy brunch joint in the former Grace Cafe List space. The crave-worthy menu features corned beef hash, chicken and waffles (topped with maple-bacon butter or hot chile-lime honey), house-made biscuits, and a Honduran baleadas special with eggs, flour tortillas, beans, crema, and queso duro. Drinks include house-made bloody Marys, spritzes, mimosas, and espresso martinis.

Han Oak List
Rejoice: Peter Cho and Sun Young Park's nationally acclaimed Korean spot reopens its doors at last this weekend with a new hot pot menu. Reservations are available for Fridays and Saturdays on Resy for $75 per person.

Killer Burger List
Former Ducks player LaMichael James will open a location of the local fast-food chain Killer Burger inside Lake Oswego’s Kruse Village development next Monday, January 31. James also owns a Killer Burger franchise in Beaverton’s Cedar Hills Crossing.

Paris Baguette Bakery Café List
This Korea-based French-Asian bakery chain opens its first Oregon location in Beaverton's Cedar Hills Crossing today. The selection includes cakes, pastries, breads, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and more.

Old City Hall List
The local brewery Away Days Brewing List plans to open a second location, tentatively named Old City Hall, with a bar and restaurant inside Troutdale's historic City Hall building this fall.

Sami Gaston, Chris Turner, and Kevin Gouy, otherwise known as the team behind the natural wine bar Bar Diane List , hope to open this nearby bottle shop, market, and deli by the end of March.

Parts and Service List
This biker-themed bar and barbecue joint, which opened nearly exactly a year ago List , announced this week that it is closing and that it will be open this weekend and February 3-5. According to the restaurant's Instagram post, a brand new project is planned for the same space, with "a lot of the same faces."

Skyline Tavern List
2022 continues to be relentless: After over 100 years of business, this beloved dive and roadhouse has officially announced that it will not be reopening and is now closed for good, due to challenges posed by the pandemic. However, owner Scott Ray Becker plans to host some small outdoor music events in the space this summer.

Rocky Butte Farmers Market expands with new weekly market
According to a press release, the volunteer-run nonprofit Rocky Butte Farmers Market, which ran a monthly market at the base of Rocky Butte last summer, plans to increase its frequency to weekly in 2022. The upcoming seasonal market will run from June 4 through September 24 in the parking lot of Mannahouse Church.

Umi Kobe + Portland Yakisoba Project Past Event List
Inspired by the entrancing series Midnight Diner, restaurants across Portland, including Expatriate, Oma's Hideaway, Obon Shokudo, and Sunrice at Deadshot, are teaming up with Umi Organic to create the perfect late-night snack and drink combo: Each restaurant will present its unique spin on yakisoba-pan (a milk bun stuffed with yakisoba noodles), paired with a refreshing Kobe-style highball cocktail featuring Umi's Ramen Spirit (which is made from repurposed ramen noodles). You can also find the yakisoba-pan by itself at Oyatsupan and Shizuku, as well as the Umi Ramen Spirit on its own at Zilla Sake.

Dumpling Week Past Event List
The Oregonian/Oregon Live's annual Dumpling Week celebrates comforting, pillowy pockets of goodness in all of their forms with specials from over 30 participating restaurants, from sweet potato dumplings with green curry, herb oil, and crispy shallots at Oma's Hideaway to chicken parm dumplings from Grassa. Print off a passport from the website and set out to try them all.

Just in time for National Croissant Day on January 30, this charming bakery is rolling out a new lemon cherry pistachio swirl pastry, laminated with lemon butter, filled with cherry spread, and finished with a sprinkle of pistachios and lemon glaze. They'll be offering that and other flaky specials, including a savory Dijon Gruyere croissant, for the holiday on Sunday.
