NEW OPENINGS AND RETURNS

Jerry's Pizza List
Tavern-style pizza, which hails from Chicago and is distinctive for its thin, crackly crust and a square cut, has arrived in Portland. Jerry Benedetto, who started selling waitlist-worthy pies out of his home kitchen under the name Jerry's Pizza on Instagram less than a year ago, opened his highly anticipated pizzeria inside the Bear Paw Inn List on May 17. Pizza options include cheese, pepperoni, sausage, or the "Jerry's special," which is topped with sausage, pepperoni, and canned mushrooms. You can also customize your own pizza with toppings like olives and hot giardiniera. Unfortunately, all pre-orders are currently sold out, but according to Eater Portland, Benedetto will add another week of pre-order slots to the website at 7 am on May 28.

Oma's Hideaway List
Get ready for Mai Tai slushies, pandan waffles, Fruity Pebble treats, and cheeseburgers with chili onion jam and lime leaf coconut butter. On Saturday, Gado Gado List owners Thomas and Mariah Pisha-Duffly will reboot their pandemic-friendly "stoner food" spinoff Oma's Takeaway, which went on hiatus in January, as "Oma's Hideaway," a new brick-and-mortar in the former space of Whiskey Soda Lounge List . The new spot will serve a menu inspired by Malaysian-Chinese street food and will recreate the ambiance of a lively night market with a live cooking station. Eric Nelson, owner and bartender of Shipwreck and co-owner of Eem List , will bring his playful cocktail prowess to the drinks list, with fun beverages like a margarita made with pickle juice and boozy slushies inspired by pandan custard and Mai Tais.

FUTURE OPENINGS

Smith Teamaker List
The tea business founded by the late tea entrepreneur Steven Dean Smith, which also has a tasting room in Southeast Portland, is planning to open its first cafe on May 29. Chef and forager Karl Holl, who developed a plant-based menu for the tasting room, will serve as executive chef, and designer Andee Hess will oversee the decor. Holl's menu incorporates tea into many of the dishes, such as a sandwich with jasmine tea-roasted beets and thumbprint cookies made with tea-infused jam.
