On Sunday, owner Ryan Callahan announced on Instagram that he was closing this ramen joint due to a series of difficulties, including financial difficulties and temporarily closing after he was stabbed in November. He added, "This is not the end of Menya Hokusei. It’s goodbye for now but we will be doing kits, pop-ups, and much more cool stuff in the future. Also, we’re moving into production/sales of craft ramen ingredients for other ramen shops that are interested."
