Shake Shack List
At long last, Portlanders will finally have access to Shake Shack's signature Shackburgers, crinkle-cut fries smothered in cheese, and frozen custards. According to a press release, the wildly popular burger chain plans to open its first location in Portland proper at 10:30 am on Monday, April 24, with a green ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mayor Ted Wheeler and free hats made in collaboration with Portland Gear for the first 100 guests. The new location, which will serve as Portland's "Flagship Shack," features an exterior patio area with uncovered and covered seating, bike parking, and a ping pong table. In addition to Shake Shack's signature drink offerings, the Shack will also serve local beverages from Straightaway Cocktails, Breakside Brewery, Ecliptic Brewing, Occidental Brewing Co., and Caldera Brewing Company.

Skidbladnir List
Patrick Carney's defunct Rose City Food Park food cart Skidbladnir, known for its Scandinavian and Celtic comfort food, made a triumphant return at Star Bar List on April 13. Unfortunately, the fan-favorite Norwegian meatballs are no longer on the menu due to their labor-intensive nature, but the Skidbladnir menu is available seven days a week, with burgers, seaweed-braised lamb sandwich sliders, and Irish spice bags (a unique Irish fast food dish inspired by Asian cuisine, with fried chicken, curry, and fries).

The spot, which opened on April 12, offers plenty of pinball machines and arcade games in addition to vegan pizza, Wayfinder beer, and themed cocktails, such as the “Mario-garita" and the "Game Over."

Portland Pizza Week 2023 Past Event List
The Portland Mercury's Pizza Week is making its long-awaited return, giving pizza lovers the chance to get special slices from some of Portland's finest purveyors of pizza pies... for a mere three dollars each! That's right: Each slice is just THREE MEASLY DOLLARS or, at participating venues, a WHOLE PIE for $20. (You heard correctly: Once again this year certain Pizza Week participants may also be offering $20 whole pies along with slices—or whole pies alone!) Pizza Week is presented by Jim BeamTetra Cannabis, and EverOut Portland (that's us!), along with Feed the Mass—a simply terrific nonprofit that works to eliminate food waste while helping feed our city's most vulnerable neighbors. (They offer education programs too, so check 'em out here!) Thanks to these stellar partners, the Mercury is proud to present what might be our greatest Pizza Week lineup ever—one that features wildly creative slices from a whopping 36 (!!) Portland locations, available across the city and lovingly crafted by your favorite pizza masterminds. WM. STEVEN HUMPHREY
