Moody Maryland rapper 6LACK will swing through town on his Since I Have a Lover tour, supporting his first album in five years. Fellow Billboard-charting rapper Bryson Tiller will also stop by Portland in the near future. If bluegrass is more your vibe, the aptly-named guitar virtuoso Billy Strings has announced a two-night stint at Moda Center this fall. Plus, BBW (Big Beautiful Weirdo) Nicole Byer will “nail it” in Portland. Read on for details on those and other newly announced events, plus some news you can use.

The World Naked Bike Ride Past Event List has announced its 2023 date: Saturday, August 12. The starting point for the ride will be revealed at a later date.

The historic Timberline Lodge has announced their free Timberline Daydream festival, a celebration of music, brews, and bikes. Performers include Grammy-winning alt-rock band Portugal. The Man, soulful Americana outfit the Get Ahead, electronic artist Tony Smiley, and psychedelic pop sextet the Fur Coats.

After waving goodbye to its longtime home on NW Everett Street last year, the Northwest Children's Theater (NWCT) relocated to the Judy Kafoury Center for Youth Arts, aka The Judy, on SW Broadway. The prominent new location expands on the organization’s mission with increased performance space, an on-site maker space, and more. The Judy will host a free grand opening Past Event List this weekend so visitors can tour the space and engage with local artists.

Two lanes of the Hawthorne Bridge will close from April 29 at 8:30 am until April 30 at 1 am ​​for the filming of Paramount's new pigeon racing flick Little Wing, which stars cantankerous king Brian Cox.

The Portland Trail Blazers will launch an as-yet-unnamed G League team that will debut in the 2023-24 season and play at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center. The G League is the NBA’s official minor league, which is often used to identify young talent and develop draft picks.
