There'd better be a mirrorball at the Arctic Monkeys show.
Beloved British rock bands Arctic Monkeys and Muse have both announced tour stops at Moda Center next year. Famed film director Quentin Tarantino will stop by the Hollywood Theatre teach you all about the New Hollywood film movement on his Cinema Speculation book tour. Plus, ring in 2023 with folk-rock troubadour Brandi Carlile at her one-of-a-kind New Year’s Eve show. Read on for details on those and other newly announced events, plus some news you can use.

Portland Thorns FC will host a 2022 NWSL Playoffs semifinal match Add to a List at Providence Park on Sunday, October 23. The number two seed Thorns will play against the quarter final winner—San Diego Wave FC or the Chicago Red Stars—which will be determined in a match on October 13. Tickets to the Portland Film Festival Add to a List are now on sale, and the full lineup of events has been announced, with fresh themes this year including reproductive rights, advocacy, Muslim voices, and mental health.

Deb Perelman of popular food blog Smitten Kitchen Add to a List will tour with her forthcoming cookbook, Smitten Kitchen Keepers, stopping in Portland at Powell's Books on January 24, 2023.

Boom Arts has announced their 2022/23 season Add to a List of experimental, site-specific productions, staged in a wide variety of locations from swimming pools to the Hampton Opera Center.

Multnomah County Library will close its Holgate and Midland branches on December 5 and December 23, respectively, for remodels. The updated libraries are scheduled to reopen in 2024 with expanded space for children and teens, outdoor seating, updated technology and faster internet, and more flexible program spaces for community use.
