The Tex-Mex restaurant's special prix-fixe menu for Father's Day sounds like something straight out of an Outback Steakhouse, if that Outback Steakhouse were located in heaven: a fried bloomin' onion with spicy remoulade, a classic iceberg wedge salad, a wood-grilled bone-in ribeye with wood-roasted mushrooms, grilled asparagus, salt-baked potatoes, and rocky road ice cream. There are also optional add-ons like grilled prawns, Dungeness crab oscar sauce, and Tsar Nicoulai Gold Pearl trout roe. Plus, if you'd rather stay in, a to-go version of the meal with smoked beef ribs or a whole smoked chicken is also available for pickup at 4 pm on Saturday or Sunday. Pre-orders close 48 hours before pickup.

Canada’s Barenaked Ladies are, in the words of esteemed Stranger music critic Dave Segal, "the aural equivalent of khaki trousers," and they are likely your dad's favorite band. They are also extremely successful rock musicians who have managed to swing themselves onto the nostalgia circuit for sold-out tour stops for the last few summers. They'll be joined on their Last Summer on Earth Tour by Semisonic and Del Amitri. AUDREY VANN

If your old man is the active type, he'll likely be stoked to show off his athletic prowess at this Father's Day race. Participants can select their sweat level with half marathon, 10K, 5K, or kid’s race options, all on the flat top at the Elks Lodge—it should suit creaky knees just fine. If all that running around works up a thirst, stick around afterward for a post-race beer and funky live performances. Best part? Dads are notoriously difficult to shop for, but this event makes it easy—you can snag a registration package that includes a hoodie and a shiny medal. Problem solved. LINDSAY COSTELLO

Your first encounter with Ben Schwartz may have been his role as wannabe baller Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks and Recreation. ("It's like I always say. When life gives you lemons, you sell some of your grandma's jewelry, and go clubbing.") Since then, he's voiced Sonic the Hedgehog (a role that oddly suits his comedy style, which has a case of the zoomies) and starred in three Netflix improv specials. He'll drop by Portland on the heels of the release of schlocky horror-comedy Renfield, in which he stars alongside Nicolas Cage as Dracula. (If your dad's jokes are growing more groan-worthy by the second, take him to the show for an ad hoc comedy lesson.) LINDSAY COSTELLO
