Dust off your dirndls and hop into your lederhosen: Oktoberfest season has arrived, bringing several Portland-area celebrations and beer specials along with it. Whether you want to gulp foamy biers from a stein, throw axes, nosh on pretzels and brats, take in live music performances, or watch wiener dog races, here's your guide to celebrating in true Bavarian style. Johnstoberfest
The local craft beer and wine mecca John's Marketplace will celebrate Oktoberfest at both of its locations with a mix of "international classics and local festbiers," plus live music. $20 gets you a custom glass and six drink tickets.

Fifth Annual Kennedy School Oktoberfest Brewfest
Polka the evening away at this Oktoberfest bash, featuring live music from Thomas Mudrick and Howlin' Waters, plus over 20 German-style craft beers.

Ridgefield Oktoberfest
This family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration boasts German food, local beers, vendors, games, live music, a costume contest, and even wiener dog races. All proceeds will go towards the nonprofit Ridgefield Main Street, which is dedicated to preserving Ridgefield's cultural heritage.

Mount Angel Oktoberfest
Celebrate the autumn harvest German-style, with plenty of beer, brats, spaetzle, and more. Mount Angel's 56th Oktoberfest will include lots of revelry, with jaunty music provided by bands of all sorts—strap on your lederhosen and get down to Chardon Polka Band, Gruber Family Band, a brass band, and a squeezebox (whatever that is) band.

DoveLewis Dogtoberfest 2021
To raise money for DoveLewis' blood bank, dogs and their hoomans are invited to this pooch-centric party that will include a photo booth and pet photo contest, a paw print art station, plus beer and Lucky Lab swag.

Central Catholic Alumni Oktoberfest Marketplace
Peruse local vendor booths and food carts at this market hosted by the Central Catholic High School Alumni Association. The family-friendly event will also include music and a beer garden.

McMenamins
McMenamins has released a new Oktoberfest lager, a "well-made craft beer designed for drinking all day long no matter where you celebrate Oktoberfest." It's available now at McMenamins Edgefield and McMenamins Bottle Shop, and to-go cans will be available at all McMenamins locations starting this week.

Occidental describes their seasonal Festbier lager as a "rich yet quaffable lager in the old tradition of Oktoberfest beers," made with German noble hops and Munich and Vienna malts.

This German-style brewery's Festbier, available in cans for the first time this year, is aged for over two months and features "layers of malts, with notes of everything from fresh bread and toast to almonds, dried fruit, and golden raisins" and a "floral, spicy counterpoint" from Noble hops.
