Hanukkah happens late this year, rolling in from December 18-26 to celebrate the triumph of the Maccabees and a very miraculous bit of oil. There are plenty of ways to celebrate around Portland, from giant outdoor menorah lightings to food specials like latkes and brisket.

This new-ish Jewish deli has a Hanukkah pre-order menu, which features a full meal with chicken schnitzel, kale salad, latkes, braided challah, and sufganiyot. Individual options include sweet noodle kugel, cholent, tzimmes, grilled cabbage salad, sufganiyot (chocolate hazelnut, apricot lemon curd, and raspberry rose), latkes, brisket, rugelach, challah, tahini halvah brownies, and more. Pickup is available from December 18-23.

Kachka Like List
Bonnie and Israel Morales' beloved restaurant will once again have the "Latke Party" spread of your dreams available for dine-in, with 12 crispy potato pancakes and eight show-stopping accompaniments, one for each night of the holiday: maitake mushroom gravy, wild pink salmon roe, baked tvorog with roasted garlic and porcini powder, braised leeks in warm sherry vinaigrette, beet and horseradish-cured salmon, smetana, chives, and apple quince butter. The meal even comes with a dreidel and gelt to play with while you wait. Feeling luxe? Add on Tsar Nicoulai Estate white sturgeon caviar or smoked brisket with jus and smokey uzvar barbecue sauce.

Lazy Susan Like List
The charcoal grill restaurant offers a special Hanukkah brunch box, with house-made bialys, king salmon gravlax, a variety of toppings (capers, lemon, dill cream cheese, red onion, and dill pickles), hash brown patties, smoked trout roe, and a smoked whitefish spread with fried saltines, matzo ball soup, jelly-filled doughnuts, and black and white cookies. Additional side dishes and desserts can be ordered à la carte. Pickup is available on December 17, 18, and 24.

Portland's sole kosher brewery celebrates Hanukkah each year with the release of Maccabeer, its annual Seasonal Winter IPA. The beer, available in pints or cans, is hopped "to the brim" with Centennial, Idaho 7, HBC630 and Strata hops and features notes of tropical fruits, berries, and pine.

Order by 5 pm on December 20 for pickup from December 16-24.
