Co-directed alongside her fellow UCLA film students Kurt Voss and Dean Lent, Allison Anders's 1987 debut is a semi-improvised post-punk diary that took four years to complete. It follows a musician (played by Chris D. of the Flesh Eaters) who goes missing after stealing stuff from a club, leaving his wife (Luanna Anders), a rock journalist, to track him down with the help of his friends (John Doe from X and Chris Shearer).
