The following description comes from the event organizer.A new pop up at the Bar Vivant / Pix patio location is bringing refreshing drinks and tasty bar snacks all summer long. Introducing Can Bar, specializing in seafood, locally made low intervention wines, housemade canned cocktails and specialty beer, as well as rotating seasonal specials from the kitchen (oysters on the half shell, fried chicken sandwiches…)
Can Bar features over 50 of the highest quality tinned seafood available from around the world. Think chargrilled tuna neck, ultra-thin razor clams, curried mackerel fillets, tiny sardines swimming in lemon olive oil, scallops, clams, trout, lobster and more. Choose individual tins or go for the curated boards served with housemade pickles, compound butters and other accompaniments.
To drink, enjoy a famous 50/50 Martini from the ice cold martini machine. Or try a canned housemade RTD cocktail, such as the classic Bee's Knees with local honey syrup and Oregon made gin, to sip under the sun. Fine wines from the Pacific NW and abroad are available by the glass, as are canned mocktails. And starting June 16th, the legendary Pix wine library, 9-time winner of the World's Best Champagne and Sparkling Wine List, will be available for rare bottles of champagne, sherry and magnums. This seasonal Can Bar Summer 2023 project is brought to you by long-time Portland restauranteur and seafood aficionado, Tobias Hogan, who also has a gin project in the works (stay tuned). Come enjoy a can inside at the bar or on the spacious patio Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4-10PM. Canned seafood and drinks are also available for take-out for your next impromptu summer picnic. Desserts from the Pix-O-Matic are also welcomed in the space. And now you can enjoy a drink with them, once again!
