Iran's animation legacy is wildly experimental, informed by cultural folklore, visual art traditions, and political strife. FLOWER STORMS: Animation in Iran journeys through the country's avant-garde animation history, including works from the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults and eye-popping short films by Ali Akbar Sadeghi and "father of animation" Noureddin Zarrinkelk. (Don't miss the moody dreamscapes of Amir Hamzeh and the Dancing Zebra and Flower Storm.)
