Mónica Guzmán, author of I Never Thought of It That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times, will head to Portland as part of Oregon Humanities' 2023-24 Consider This series, which has a "People, Place, and Power" theme. After Guzmán's Mexican immigrant parents voted for Donald Trump, the award-winning journalist began cultivating cross-partisan dialogues with curiosity and wonder. She'll share her perspective as a Latina journalist and "bridge builder" who develops strategies for overcoming fear and learning from opposing worldviews.
