The following description comes from the event organizer.
Portland Mercado's “El Carnaval del Barrio,” or neighborhood carnival, will feature a night of music and dance performances, food, vendors, and community. Ten percent of the night's sales will benefit the Latino Student Union at David Douglas High School, which has one of the state's most diverse student bodies.
Para honrar el Mes de la Herencia Latinx, estamos organizando “El Carnaval del Barrio”, una celebración en el Portland Mercado. El 10% de las ventas de Barrio beneficiarán a la Unión de Estudiantes Latinos de la secundaria David Douglas. ¡Ayúdenos a apoyar a nuestros estudiantes y únase a nosotros para una noche de presentaciones, comida y comunidad! Todas las edades son bienvenidas. Este es un evento familiar.
Due to COVID-19, we ask that you wear masks while at the event, so we can prioritize the safety of all the adults and children attending. You are more than welcome to take your mask off to eat, but we ask that you put your mask on again when you are finished.
