Shaking the Tree presents a gorgeous staging of Euripides most subversive play, newly translated by classicist Anne Carson. I can’t promise that everything about the 2,400-year-old play will make perfect sense, but Shaking the Tree puts on a hell of an interpretation with fierceness, beautiful occultish folk art, and age-old human drama.
