Returning for the ninth time, this year's Les Blank Celebration will herald the late documentarian's 86th birthday with a funky "musical explosion" that promises to shake off the Thanksgiving leftovers. Hosted by film curator Greg Hamilton, the shindig will include a screening of Blank's '74 doc A Poem is A Naked Person, a feature-length flick that captures the kaleidoscopic grooviness of multi-instrumentalist Leon Russell's Oklahoma recording studio.
