Movie Madness University: Online–the Hitch-Hiker
Written and directed by Hollywood critic Ida Lupino, The Hitch-Hiker follows two men on a fishing trip who are abducted by a murderous hitchhiker. (Think Polanski's Knife in the Water, but kinda in reverse.) Forced to help their captor evade the law, the men embark on a harrowing road trip across California and Mexico. In this Movie Madness class, Hollywood Theatre programmer Ted Hurliman will lead a discussion of Lupino's career and her subversion of noir.
