In honor of the New Year and O-Shogatsu (or "standard month"), the Portland Japanese Garden celebrates the arrival of 2020 with a full afternoon of activities, including a New-Year’s style tea ceremony, a Koto harp concert, and more. Elsewhere in the Garden, an ink-wash brush drawing session and Hyakunin Issyu (poetry game) will be held in the Yanai Classroom. To cap off the festivities, attendees will share Mochitsuki (pounded rice cake) before they depart.
