The Final day of horrors at Portland Horror Film Festival! Two short film blocks round out our massive 2023 short film selection, plus our final features, black metal found footage film INVOKING YELL by Chilean director Patricio Valladares (DOWNHILL, NIGHTWORLD) and the WORLD PREMIERE of Australian supernatural horror film VIOLETT by Steven J. Mihaljevich, PLUS our notorious SHORTS GONE WILD block to send off the weekend in the most wacky, bloody, hilarious way!

Part of the 8th Annual Portland Horror Film Festival™ taking place June 7-11th, screening in-person at the Hollywood Theatre and The Clinton Street Theater. With over 60 short and feature films from 17 countries, including films by women, BIPOC, and queer directors, this is a diverse and inclusive lineup of the best independent horror films. Feature: INVOKING YELL (Chile) dir. by Patricio Valladares
Set in 1997 South of Chile, a trio of metalhead twenty something girls venture into the woods to shoot their demo tape for their black metal band, Invoking Yell, while also documenting the eerie and unsettling process of recording psicofonias in the woods for the final track.

WORLD PREMIERE Feature: VIOLETT (Australia) dir. by Steven J. Mihaljevich
In a rural Australian town, a sick Mother fears unspeakable evil will soon snatch her 11 year old daughter, Violett. As bizarre visions and disturbing characters from the neighborhood emerge, Sonya is about to discover more than just one grisly truth.

Shorts Gone Wild!
After 5 days of horror, this is our way to send you into the night and send off the weekend with some of our craziest, funniest, weirdest horror films of the festival! These are the antidote for the world around us... but also an infection of zany horror that will lift you up and gross you out.
