All Ages
"Each year the Mysti Krewe of Nimbus hosts a free, family-friendly Mardi Gras parade. The parade steps off at 7:00 pm starting near Humboldt St and proceeds down Mississippi Avenue to Cook St., just past Fremont. The parade is full of bands, dancers, jugglers, tall bikes, bright lights and dancing music to entertain crowds of all ages.
All are invited to dress up and come dance in the streets – joining the second line has become a rite of passage in
Portland! Krewe members throw beads, and pass out hand-decorated signature mini-umbrella ‘throws’ to lucky participants.
Many venues along Mississippi Avenue will have food and drink specials on parade day and things really get lively on Mardi Gras night at Mississippi Studios and Mississippi Pizza Pub after-parties.
The Portland Mardi Gras Parade is a win-win-win, for the district’s Historic Mississippi Business Association, for local schools and groups, and for the community. All benefit from an evening of lively parading, festive costuming, revelry and music." (Promo Copy)
