Thumbprint composer Kamala Sankaram, “one of the most exciting opera composers in the country" (Washington Post), will explore the creative process behind her contemporary operatic work, which will hit Newmark Theatre later this month. The forward-thinking production blends traditional Hindustani and western classical music to tell the story of pioneering Pakistani human rights activist Mukhtar Mai.
