The brain is a mysterious place, but scientists are beginning to understand more about the neural mechanisms of perception and learning. How might advancements in neuroscience help us better understand how students learn? Mark Pitzer, Ph.D., a neuroscientist at the University of Portland and award-winning educator, might have an idea or two. In this edition of Science on Tap, he'll demonstrate how brain circuits can be "recruited" by educators to improve learning, and how neuroscience-supported strategies can create emotional connections that spark enthusiasm, curiosity, and deep learning in students.
