This sonic edition of Science on Tap features political ecologist Karen Bakker, who will share her research on "nonhuman sound" and its surprising potential for protecting endangered species. Sound pollution can also lead to devastating consequences for the natural world, so needless to say, it's a complicated field. Bakker dives even further into her bioacoustic research in her book The Sounds of Life, but this event offers an engaging aural preview.
