The following description comes from the event organizer.

As the head of the biggest city in Washington, the Seattle mayor has a major role to play in the fight against gun violence. City officials are responsible for implementing and funding existing gun laws and supporting local gun safety policies and programs.

Join the Alliance for Gun Responsibility and Grandmothers Against Gun Violence for a candidate forum to learn if and how Seattle mayoral candidates plan to prioritize gun violence prevention if elected.

The event is sponsored by South Seattle Emerald and will be moderated by South Seattle Emerald Founder and Seattle Times columnist, Marcus Harrison Green. So far, five leading candidates are confirmed: Colleen Echohawk, Jessyn Farrell, Lorena Gonzales, Andrew Grant Houston, and Bruce Harrell.
