Sewing Trees, an exhibition of textile art, features the work of local artists Michelle Purvis and Kim Tepe. Purvis uses acrylic paint and thread to reflect on our symbiotic relationship with the environment, hoping to engage viewers in a conversation about reforestation, preservation, and sustainability. Tepe's fiber works take inspiration from the forest; for this show, she studied the shape of trees before "stitching silhouettes to create vast landscapes or intimate vignettes."
