British shoegaze legends Slowdive are back with their first album in six years, entitled Everything Is Alive. The creation of the album served as a catharsis for band members Rachel Goswell and Simon Scott, who dealt with the loss of family members during the pandemic. The album, however, is surprisingly bright with pop hooks and modular synths. "I thought it was going to be quite a dark record," guitarist/producer Neil Halstead said to Mojo. "But once we got together as a band, I think some of that darkness lifted and some of the tunes became a bit lighter."
