We've all heard about the genre of music called "yacht rock," which has been rediscovered by hipsters in the past few years. It was created in the mid-to-late '70s and ran its course by around 1984. This is the kind of laid-back, hedonistic "lifestyle music" that lends itself to balmy happy hours on the beach and lots of afternoon sex. Think Michael McDonald-era Doobies, late-'70s Kenny Loggins, Boz Scaggs, Pablo Cruise, Little River Band and Christopher Cross—to name just a very few. The best of it was jazzy, funky and vocally very lush.
High-energy renditions of classic songs from The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins, Ambrosia, et al, are masterfully navigated by a crew that boasts musical affiliations with some of Portland’s finest across the rock, blues, jazz, and funk scenes." (Promo Copy)
