German filmmaker and futuristic thinker Hito Steyerl's This is the Future blends video projections, sculptures, and an augmented reality (AR) experience to create a "vibrant, imagined garden" caught within the sticky web of capitalism and tech advancements. Steyerl's "spatial interventions" are informed by humanity's deep desire to predict the future using AI—in this talk, the forward-thinking artist will examine our failures to achieve these goals.
