The following description comes from the event organizer.

Willamette Women Democrats welcome back Jim Moore, Assoc. Professor of Political Science at Pacific University, to analyze the choices Oregon voters have made in these polarizing times, and what it may hold for the November midterm election. Oregon voters were faced with many familiar faces but also a few new ones, an open seat for Governor and a new Congressional District 6. Redistricting caused candidates to canvas in new areas. Prof. Moore is a well-known analyst on all things political in Oregon. He will also offer historical context to our election results. The program will be held in person on Thursday, June 2 at 4:30 pm at the Celebrate Conference Center in Lake Oswego.

Jim Moore, PhD, has been called the most quoted political analyst in Oregon. He is known for his civil commentary even in this boisterous political climate. He also has joined the stable of bloggers at the new Oregon Way blog (theoregonway.substack.com). Prof. Moore’s academic expertise in political science draws from local and state politics to international relations. He regularly gives talks on topics ranging from Oregon's tax structure and gubernatorial politics to international economics and the Middle East. In addition to his teaching, Jim Moore serves as the Director of Political Outreach for the Tom McCall Center for Civic Engagement.

The program will be held in person at the Celebrate Conference Center at 15555 Bangy Road #100 in Lake Oswego. Members and guests are asked to reserve by noon May 30 at www.W2Dems.com or call 503-656-4445 (CM Bookkeeping). For our second in-person meeting in over two years, we’re welcoming everyone back at the membership rate of $15. There will be light refreshments. Doors open at 4:00.

Willamette Women Democrats (W2D) is locally organized non-profit progressive organization established to provide informative programs, promote progressive policies and encourage women to be politically active.
