As of March 11, gatherings of more than 250 people are prohibited in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties through the end of March, in order to limit the spread of coronavirus. In addition, in King County only, gatherings smaller than 250 people are banned, unless organizers can implement effective social distancing measures.
We've rounded up everything we've heard related to event cancellations below (you can also find canceled events listed here), including events that are going on as planned but implementing health measures, and we'll add to this post as we hear more. If we're missing something, email us to let us know.
Remember that, even if events are continuing as planned, you should not go out if you're sick, and you should be extra vigilant about washing your hands.

TEMPORARILY CLOSED VENUES
CLOSED THROUGH THE END OF MARCHACT Theatre
Venue notes (via email): "We value the health and well-being of everyone who walks through our doors at ACT Theatre. This morning, Governor Jay Inslee, King County Executive Dow Constantine and the Washington State Department of Health issued a mandate prohibiting gatherings of 250 or more. As a result, we are suspending all in-person performances at ACT and closing our building through March 31. We appreciate your patience as we assess this situation and explore our options."
Ada's Technical Books
Venue notes (via email): "We closed up shop today so we could take the time to really think about how to best move forward as a business during this unprecedented and uncertain time. We’ve come to the conclusion that the most socially responsible response for the time being is to keep our brick-and-mortar locations closed for the time being and move to an online-only business model until the social isolation recommendation is over. As of right now, we are hoping to reopen on March 31st. However, we acknowledge that we may need to open at an even later date as the situation develops."
AMC Theaters
Venue notes (via Seattle Times): "In an email to customers, the Cinemark chain, which operates two multiplexes at Bellevue’s Lincoln Square, announced that it is closing all of its theaters effective Wednesday, March 18, “until we believe it is safe to once gain welcome moviegoers to our auditoriums."
Bainbridge Island Museum of Art
Venue notes: "BIMA’s March programs & events have been canceled or postponed. As the situation surrounding the COVID–19 outbreak changes, we are committed to staying up-to-date and responding to recommendations from the CDC, Washington State Department of Health, and Kitsap Public Health District. As a gathering place in this region, the health and safety of all guests, staff, volunteers, students, artists, and our extended community is of the utmost importance. Thank you for your support during this unprecedented time."
The Beacon
Venue notes (via email): "The Beacon's screen is currently dark. But rest assured we will return. While the outpouring of love and support from our community has been amazing, we encourage you to please spread your resources around to where they are most desperately needed. We're thinking of the homeless, the incarcerated, the disabled, the elderly, and everyone at heightened risk to the virus itself as well as the potentially devastating social and economic effects that come with it.
After that, you can spare a thought for the Beacon and support our eventual return by purchasing a gift card or by picking up a shirt at our online store, which we're working on now."

Venue notes: "Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced on Wednesday, March 11, that all gatherings with over 250 people will be prohibited until March th31, 2020 in an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). All performances and events scheduled at Benaroya Hall through March 31, 2020 are therefore being canceled or postponed."

Blue Highway Games

Center Theatre (home of Seattle Shakespeare Company)
Venue notes: "Today Seattle Shakespeare Company’s Managing Director John Bradshaw and Artistic Director George Mount announced that the company is canceling the following upcoming performances and programs: Troilus and Cressida, Macbeth, Hamlet (Tour), Romeo and Juliet (Tour), Short Shakes Macbeth."
Central Cinema
Venue notes (via email): "As Washington state continues taking measures towards containing the covid-19 virus, new regulations mean Central Cinema's screen is going dark for now. Our lobby cafe is also not offering seating during this time. As of today, Monday March 16, we have canceled all future screenings and events. All pre-purchased tickets have been refunded. We hope to reschedule many of the upcoming titles for when our screen once again shines bright."
Chapel Performance Space
Venue notes (via Dave Segal): "Wallingford's Chapel Performance Space, home of many excellent experimental-music events, is cancelling all of its March shows."
Clock-Out Lounge
Venue notes: "We won’t have our doors open, BUT Breezy Town Pizza will be doing 4-9 PM hours everyday and will have pickup and delivery available. Stay tuned. Stay healthy. Columbia City Gallery
Venue notes (via press release): "To maintain the safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, and to do our part to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, we have made the difficult decision to close Columbia City Gallery to the public through March 31, or possibly longer."
Crocodile
Venue notes (via email): "We have been holding off making a statement trying to see if we could keep some of our shows in place moving forward within the new restrictions and regulations set forth by Governor Jay Inslee regarding gatherings of 250 or more but unfortunately as of today we have suspended all concerts and other events. The Crocodile Back Bar and Restaurant will remain open daily from 4pm to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 4pm to 2am Friday and Saturday."
Downtown Issaquah Association
Organizer notes (via press release): "The Downtown Issaquah Association announces it will not be hosting events in the month of March which includes postponing St. Patrick’s Day with The Rovin' Fiddlers and cancelling the Wine and Art Walk. The health and well-being of every member of our staff, board, musicians, artists, winery representatives, volunteers, residents and visitors are of utmost importance."
Edmonds Center for the Arts
Venue notes: "Pursuant to the Executive Order issued by Governor Jay Inslee this morning, ECA will be postponing or canceling all ECA Presented Events, as well as all Partner and Rental Performances through the end of March. We anticipate that events scheduled through the month of April will also likely be postponed or canceled and will share additional information and updates with you as we determine next steps."

Grand Illusion
Venue notes: "Beginning March 16th we are temporarily closing to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We'll be open through the weekend and capping all screenings at 25 attendees max. We hope to re-open in April. That we are aware of, none of our volunteers or patrons have tested positive for the coronavirus."
Henry Art Gallery
Venue notes: "After much consideration, we have made the decision to suspend onsite operations, effective immediately through March 30. The building will be closed, including the Café, and all onsite programs have been cancelled. During the closure, our staff will work remotely and we will remain active on social media and online. Hugo House
Venue notes: "Over the past week, we have been trying to keep our doors open because we know Hugo House provides a source of sustenance beyond physical health to many of you. However, at this point, the evidence is clear: we all need to be doing whatever we can to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Because of this, beginning Friday, March 13, we are moving all classes to online video conferencing for the remainder of the winter quarter. We have also decided to close the Salon space and postpone all events and programs from March 13 through March 31st."
Jazz Alley
Organizer notes (via press releaase): "We are working diligently to comply with Governor Inslee’s ban on large gatherings. While we plan to be open tonight, March 11, in order to keep our customers and staff safe and healthy, we are closing for the remainder of the month. We are contacting all ticket holders via the email address we have on file, as some artists have rescheduled their dates, while others of have cancelled completely. We plan to re-open on March 31st with Cécile McLorin Salvant, but will comply with any extensions of the ban on large gatherings."
Jet City Improv
Venue notes: "This weekend shows (03/19-21) are cancelled. Please donate to our nonprofit theater at this time. Jet City Improv plans to continue our season once Seattle is more healthier."
KEXP Gathering Space
Venue notes: "Along with KEXP, we have decided it is in the best interest of our community and staff to temporarlity close the KEXP Gathering Space. This includes our La Marzocco Cafe and Light in the Attic Record Shop. We will be closed beginning Monday, March 16."
Kremwerk & Timbre Room

Living Computers: Museum + Labs
Venue notes: "With the evolution of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in King County, we are temporarily closing Living Computers: Museum + Labs starting today, March 5, 2020 until further notice."
Lucky Envelope Brewing Tasting Room
Venue notes (via press release): "In accordance with guidance published by public health organizations to prioritize the safety of our community by slowing the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to close Lucky Envelope’s tasting room for on-premise consumption for the remainder of the month, beginning Monday, March 16th. Only bottles & growler fills will be available. For the remainder of the month our hours will be 7 days a week from 11am-7pm."
Majestic Bay Theatres
Venue notes: "We have made the decision to temporarily close our doors."
Museum of Flight
Venue notes: "Conforming to guidelines set by King County and Washington state to minimize the spread of COVID-19, and in keeping with the community’s best interest, the Museum is joining other area attractions in temporarily closing its campus as well as the Museum’s Restoration Center and Reserve Collection, located on Paine Field in Everett, to the public after 5:00 PM today."

Venue notes: "Thanks for your interest in all the great things MoPOP has to offer. Unfortunately, the museum is temporarily closed to visitors, based on guidance from public health officials trying to slow the spread of COVID-19. We are assessing when we might be able to reopen our doors to visitors. Additionally, all public events at the museum for the month of March are postponed."
National Nordic Museum
Venue notes (via press release): "The National Nordic Museum in Seattle, Washington, has made the difficult decision to temporarily close to the public effective 5pm today, Friday, March 13. We plan to reopen on April 1 but will follow public health advice as always."
Nectar
Venue notes: "We at High Dive and Nectar are announcing the closure of both venues until at least the end of March at the direction of our government officials, who are requiring 6 feet of social distancing, which is simply not feasible in these venues."
Neumos, Barboza, and the Runaway
Venue notes: "In accordance with Governor Inslee's instructions regarding gatherings larger than 250 people; all Neumos shows in March will be rescheduled or cancelled."
Barboza and the Runaway issued similar statements on their Facebook and Instagram pages, respectively.
Northwest Film Forum
Venue notes: "In light of ever-changing circumstances around COVID-19, and in our best attempts to be responsive to community and public health needs, NWFF will temporarily be closing our physical space to public events.... Art offers hope, and it must endure, especially in times of difficulty. Please stay tuned for important programmatic announcements on our end, starting Monday, March 16. This will include ways to bring certain aspects of BYDESIGN FESTIVAL and other programming onto a virtual platform. We are currently designing a number of innovative and adaptable solutions to build community, foster dialogue, continue education, and further our increasingly vital mission."
Pacific Science Center
Venue notes: "On March 11, Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced a prohibition on gatherings of 250 people or more in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties. In accordance with that, PacSci has closed to the public starting March 12 and will reopen as soon as it is safe, approved, and possible."
Pacific Northwest Ballet
Venue notes: "In light of Washington Governor Jay Inslee's press conference regarding health and safety efforts around the COVID-19 pandemic, Pacific Northwest Ballet's Artistic Director Peter Boal and Executive Director Ellen Walker have announced that the organization is cancelling its upcoming performances of ONE THOUSAND PIECES, and Beauty and the Beast. Photographic Center Northwest
Venue notes (via press release): "For the safety and health of our beloved staff and cherished community, PCNW will temporarily close beginning Tuesday, March 17th until further notice. While it is our hope to reopen in early April, we will closely monitor the developing COVID-19 situation to know when it is safe and recommended to do so."

Venue notes: "It is more than an abundance of caution at this point that we close VCA’s doors. It is the right thing to do. Governor Inslee's prohibition of large social gatherings (more than 250 people) in Pierce, King and Snohomish counties is intended to aid in the immediate need to help keep Washingtonians healthy and safe."
Washington State History Museum
Organizer notes: "Due to the spread of COVID 19 in our state, public programs at the State History Museum have been suspended through the month of March in order to support the health and safety of our communities. Dates for programs in April may also change based on the most up-to-date public health information."
Woodland Park Zoo
Venue notes: "Woodland Park Zoo is temporarily closing to the public effective March 12, 2020 through March 31, 2020 following the lead and directive of our state health and government officials as a measure to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus in our community."
SIFF (Egyptian, Uptown, and Film Center)
Venue notes: "In light of the circumstances related to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the directives issued by the Governor and King County, SIFF is suspending all screenings and events at its three cinemas-SIFF Cinema Egyptian, SIFF Cinema Uptown, and SIFF Film Center-from March 13 until conditions improve sufficiently. We are complying with the state, city, and county in prioritizing the health and safety of audiences, staff, and the community at large."

Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute
Venue notes (via email): "As you know, we have already postponed our events Sunday Dinner with Barbara Earl Thomas and 12. Although this was done in consultation with staff, board, and the artists, it is always hard to make the decision to cancel an event. It is even harder to not have the experience that we love having in bringing our community together. And after hearing the Executive Order issued by Governor Jay Inslee on Wednesday morning, we've decided to cancel all upcoming events through April 2020."
Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Markets (University District, West Seattle, and Capitol Hill)
Venue notes (via press release): "The University District, West Seattle and Capitol Hill farmers markets are, indeed, closed effective immediately through April 13. The City's order, put in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, states our operating permits will be reactivated once the suspension of all City permitted events is lifted. Farmers markets are frequently caught in loopholes - neither retail nor gathering, neither business nor building - which made waiting for this guidance essential to verifying our closure."
Seattle Public Library (all locations)
Organizer notes: "The Seattle Public Library will close all Library locations, and these closures will remain in effect until at least April 13. We will be in continued contact with public health officials to evaluate our facilities beyond this timeline."
Volunteer Park Conservatory
Venue notes (via press release): "Following the public announcement (below) made by the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department late on Thursday, March 12, the FOC will extend postponement of all events, programs and volunteer activity until at least April 13, 2020."
Wing Luke Museum
Venue notes: "Based on Seattle/King County Public Health recommendations for COVID-19, the Wing Luke Museum has made the difficult decision to close the Museum to the public beginning Saturday March 14 through Monday April 13 and cancel our 2020 Dinner & Auction, our largest fundraising event of the year."
