Exercise your right to imbibe with Ben Paris's perfect Manhattan. (Ben Paris)

Saturday, December 5 is Repeal Day, also known as the anniversary of the ratification of the Twenty-First Amendment, which repealed the prohibition of alcohol. To help you exercise your right to booze (and celebrate the availability of to-go cocktails!), we've rounded up this selection of great takeout tipples around town, from whiskey drinks cleverly disguised as Chinese takeout at The Gerald List and booze hidden in a book from Canon List , to perfect Manhattans at Ben Paris List and barrel-aged Negronis at The Velvet Elk List . If you're looking for a virtual event, check out the Washington State History Museum's History After Hours: Bootleggers' Ball II Past Event List , which dives into Washington's Prohibition history with costumes, crafts, cocktails, speakeasy stories, and more. For more ideas, check out our full food and drink guide.

PICKUP ONLY

Canon List
Jamie Boudreau's James Beard-nominated "whiskey and bitters emporium" is now closed indefinitely, but they'll be slinging drinks for pre-ordered pickup from their window on this Saturday, December 5 for Repeal Day. One option, the "Nirvana's Repeal," is an updated Old-Fashioned with Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style bourbon, Amer Boudreau, Punt e Mes, maraschino, and Benedictine & Boker’s bitters, available in a bottle, a flask, or even a book with a secret booze compartment to shield your drinks from prying eyes. Some cocktails are already sold out, so get your orders in as early as possible if you want to partake in the festivities.
Capitol Hill

Champagne Diner List
Former Fleet Foxes member Bryn Lumsden's nostalgic Interbay diner serves up to-go cocktails, like the "Cowboy in Paris" (tequila blanco, lime, cassis berry liqueur, aromatic bitters) or the "R&R Old Fashioned" (rye whiskey, Jamaican rum, cane sugar, and aromatic bitters). They've also got hot booze, like hot toddies and Irish coffee.
Interbay

Herb & Bitter Public House List
The Capitol Hill craft cocktail bar focused on Italian amari dispenses drinks like the "Adonis" (a low-ABV take on a Manhattan) and "El Diablo" (Reposado tequila, lime, ginger, cassis, soda water) out of its takeout window, and even has a "Bartender's Whimsy" option for the indecisive.
Capitol Hill

Oliver's Twist List
Try hip, understated cocktails like the "Only Happy When It Rains" (bourbon, lemon, red wine reduction, and maraschino), the "Old Sally" (bourbon, house blackberry-sage shrub, lime, and peach liqueur) and the "Miss Nancy" (gin, house rhubarb-tarragon syrup, lemon, orange bitters, and sparkling wine) at this Phinney cocktail bar, which launched a menu of takeout Cambodian food in July to help keep the business afloat while the dining room is closed.
Phinney Ridge

Rob Roy List
As they do every year, this Belltown cocktail lounge is hosting Miracle on 2nd, a kitsch-tastic Christmas cocktail pop-up Past Event List . This year, the event will be available for to-go orders only, with "a lot of amusing decor and twerking Santas to elbow bump as you walk through to pick up your take-home kits. Photo ops, a chance for a quick shot, and 15 minutes of holiday delight will all be yours!" Nearby sibling Navy Strength will host the spin-off holiday-tiki-themed pop-up called "Sippin' Santa Past Event List ," which asks you to "imagine Santa on a surfboard instead of a sleigh and palm trees instead of pine," with patio tables available by reservation and cocktails, glassware, and kits available for takeout.
Belltown

The Velvet Elk List
This eclectic speakeasy-esque neighborhood bar in Mount Baker is serving up cocktails like barrel-aged "Bastard Negronis" (Tanqueray gin, Carpano Antica vermouth, Campari, and Cynar) and "Velvet Manhattans" (Elijah Craig bourbon, Averna, house-made velvet bitters, and orange bitters) alongside Japanese okazu pan (small grab-and-go bread snacks with a savory filling) from Umami Kushi List . They're also recently released a luxurious, boozy aged "velvet eggnog" with bourbon, rum, brandy, milk, heavy cream, sugar egg yolks, velvet bitters, and freshly ground nutmeg. Pro tip: If you'd like to order a cocktail but don't want an okazu pan, you can order a single slice of sourdough bread to conform to WA State Liquor and Cannabis Board laws.

Ben Paris List
This downtown cocktail bar is named for a late Seattle sportsman and entrepreneur who once advocated for the legalization of selling beer on Sundays (he took his case all the way to the Supreme Court and lost), so it seems an appropriate choice for Repeal Day. Cocktails include bartender Abigail's "perfect" Manhattan (referring to a 50/50 blend of sweet and dry vermouth) and the "It's a Bird, It's A Plane" (a take on the modern favorite "Paper Plane" cocktail with bourbon, Aperol, Grand Poppy amaro, and lemon).
