QUICK TAKE: Violin soloist, Somber music, Black composer, Woman composer

Musicians are often influenced by the cultures in which they grew up. Traditions are honored and transformed into new pieces of art, both nostalgic and novel. Through the imaginations of three brilliant composers and a virtuosic guest violinist we will visit music that will warm your heart on a chill winter night.

Soloist: Bella Hristova, violin

Program:
HUANG ROU – Folk Songs for Orchestra
FLORENCE PRICE – Violin Concerto No. 1
PYOTR ILYICH TCHAIKOVSKY – Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique"
