Get in your car and watch The Goonies, a notable example of Spielberg-style "old-fashioned adventure" cinema, complete with pirates, treasure, and that signature peril-and-fun-in-equal-parts recipe you've come to love. Donations from this free 35th-anniversary screening at the Washington State Fair's Blue Lot will give any donations to the Puyallup Food Bank.
First come first served, so get there early. Gates open at 7:30 and the movie begins around 9 pm (just after sunset). More details from the State Fair below:
- Parking lot gates open at 7:30pm
- Parking is on a first come, first serve basis until capacity is reached
- Follow instructions from parking attendants upon arrival
- Movie must be watched from vehicle through stereo system, there will be no amplified sound
- In compliance with Washington Initiative 901 RCW 70.160, smoking or vaping is not allowed
- Portable toilets will be on-site, which include ADA accessibility
- The following items are not allowed at The Washington State Fair: weapons of any kind, including knives and all firearms, alcoholic beverages, marijuana and illegal drugs, open/unsealed alcoholic beverage containers, bicycles, skates, roller blades and skateboards, drones, laser pens/pointers
- Headlights and vehicle engines must be turned off once parked
- Guests must remain in their vehicles at all times except to visit the restroom or concessions area
- Smoking allowed only in personal vehicles
- Only service animals allowed
- Customers should wear a cloth face covering when leaving vehicles for any reason
- Guests must adhere to current social distancing guidelines
