The following description comes from the event organizer.

El Centro de la Raza (The Center for People of All Races) is hosting our annual Building the Beloved Community Gala in celebration of El Centro de la Raza’s 50th Anniversary. This will be a hybrid live and virtual event that will raise vital funds for our 43 programs and services. The event is planned to be in-person at the Washington State Convention Center which will include virtual elements, live music, a reception and plated dinner, a keynote address by Thomas A. Saenz - President and General Counsel of MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund), an awards ceremony for our Roberto Felipe Maestas Legacy Awards and Scholarships recipients, an online auction, and more!
We are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary with you. The money that is raised will benefit over 22,000 children, youth, families, and seniors and will get our children ready for kindergarten, ensure that students graduate high school, keep families housed, and help seniors active in their community. Visit www.elcentrodelaraza.org to learn about our 50-year history on Beacon Hill. Early-bird tickets are available through Thursday, September 8, 2022. You can register and purchase tickets for our gala at: belovedcommunitygala.org
