The following description comes from the event organizer.
This tour will be approximately 35 minutes long. This will be a tour of two spaces: EL SUEÑO: The Flowers That Bloom and Light Reign: James Turrell Skyspace. Both pieces seem to envision dreaming for positive community futures through strong connections with the natural world. We will have a conversation about how these two installations relate and complete two brief writing activities to consider one’s own personal dreams and connections with nature.
Who Are the Henry Art Liaisons? We are a group of UW students from multidisciplinary backgrounds, instructed by artist, curator, and writer Berette S. Macaulay. We share a passion for decentralizing art and museum practices and are interested in dismantling structures that are rooted in systems of colonialism, capitalism, and hegemony. In our time interning at the Henry, we have learned to foreground visitor-centered programming and activities in order to create a bridge between you and the art world.
