The holiday Hinamatsuri, also known as "Dolls' Day" or "Girls' Day," is observed on March 3 in Japan to celebrate female children and pray for their future health and happiness. Families often participate by displaying ornamental dolls dressed in the style of Japan's ancient imperial court. Ten Sushi will get in on the festivities with hamaguri no suimono, a clear soup with clam broth traditionally eaten for good luck, and other specials geared towards the occasion.
