Calling on the visual vocabulary of the I Ching, Beijing-born artist Maggie Jiang's paintings merge traditional geometric abstraction (think Mondrian and Josef Albers) with her Chinese heritage. I Ching, an ancient Chinese divination text, offers answers to questions via a series of 64 hexagrams, which Jiang interprets through a bright, hard-edged abstraction that honors the philosophical underpinnings of the practice.

The opening reception will be held in person on Saturday June 25th from 3-6pm, with a First Thursday celebration with the artist on July 7th from 5-8pm.
