This edition of the Seattle Public Library’s annual A. Scott Bullitt Lecture in American History spotlights Judith Heumann. The prominent disability advocate and writer tells her story through the lenses of ableist discrimination and social justice in her 2020 memoir Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist and its young adult companion version, Rolling Warrior: The Incredible, Sometimes Awkward, True Story of a Rebel Girl on Wheels Who Helped Spark a Revolution. For this talk, Heumann will be joined by Jae Kim, supervisor of information and referral at The Arc of King County.
