Local authors team up with KCTS 9, Third Place Books and PBS books to lead monthly book discussions on themes related to KCTS 9 programming.KCTS 9 is excited to continue the KCTS 9 Book Club, a virtual* conversation event series, in collaboration with Third Place Books in Seattle and PBS Books. Reserve your spot now.
Monthly book selections are made by a rotating group of Washington authors who will also host the virtual discussions. The twist: authors will select books that aren't their own! Most months, books selected will be fiction, but we may change it up once every so often. Themes will correspond to current programming airing on KCTS 9.
The October selection is So Lucky by Nicola Griffith to complement programming related to the experiences and rights of the disability community airing during the month:
Becoming Helen Keller, Tuesday Oct 19 at 9pm. Broadcast in the award-winning PBS series American Masters, this documentary depicts the life and legacy of the great author, activist, lecturer and force for disability rights, Helen Keller. The film reclaims Keller’s extraordinary story and historical importance, and illuminates how she became one of the 20th century’s human rights pioneers.
