From mid-May to mid-June, Seattle artist Matthew Offenbacher will be Oxbow Gallery’s artist-in-residence. Offenbacher made waves a few years ago after he received the $25,000 Neddy Award and used the money to buy work made by women and queer artists, which he donated to the Seattle Art Museum’s permanent collection. During his residency at Oxbow, the Seattle artist will be presenting painted pictures based on the ancient Greek romance novel Daphnis and Chloe.
