The following description comes from the event organizer.
Historian Timothy Snyder and artist Nora Krug make a virtual visit to Seattle for a conversation moderated by Paul Constant about their new graphic edition of On Tyranny: Twenty Lesson from the Twentieth Century.⠀
Timothy Snyder’s New York Times bestseller On Tyranny, originally published in 2017, uses the darkest moments in twentieth-century history, from Nazism to Communism, to teach twenty lessons on resisting modern-day authoritarianism. In the graphic edition of the book, Nora Krug uses her signature illustration style to bring new life, color, and power into historian Timothy Snyder's guide to resisting modern-day authoritarianism through twentieth-century history, emphasizing the importance of being active, conscious, and deliberate participants in resistance.⠀
This conversation will take place online via Zoom. Free registration through Eventbrite - On Tyranny is also available for purchase from Elliott Bay Book Company during registration.
