Oscar Tuazon works with ordinary materials—wood, concrete, steel, glass—to create pieces that are minimal in sensibility but maximal in design. In the LA-based artist’s first solo museum show in his native Pacific Northwest, Tuazon will be exhibiting works from the past 15 years of his career while also introducing new site-specific pieces. The Bellevue Arts Museum itself is an interesting building to be in, with all its sharp edges and unexpected curves. The marriage between Tuazon’s approach to space and Steven Holl’s architecture should be interesting to witness.
