Webby Award-nominated Cree journalist Connie Walker unveils a disturbing pattern of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in her podcasts Stolen and Missing & Murdered. In Stolen, Walker delves into the investigation of the disappearance of Jermain Charlo, a young Indigenous mother who vanished in 2018. More widely, Walker's work "throws into sharp relief the difficulties Indigenous women face even today" (Rolling Stone). This talk will include a Q&A with Pacific Northwest journalist Wudan Yan, a multiple grantee of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.
In person and online.
This talk has been rescheduled from May 12, 2022 to May 8, 2023.
